When you are born into a family where your great-grandfather was a famous Chinese herbalist in Northeast China, and your family is in the medical field, it stands to reason that you would follow in their footsteps. When she was just a little girl, Dr. Yu knew her path would involve helping people live healthier lives.
She gained her Master of Business Administration degree in Malaysia in 2005 after first studying at Xi'an College in Shanxi in 2001. Her next step was to study Chinese Medicine, Tuina massage, Tuina Pediatrics, chiropractic, and acupuncture at Shandong Chinese Medicine University of China, completing her studies in 2008.
It was then time for change, and Dr Yu traveled to the United States in 2009, swapped her business management career for one in the health field, and embarked on her passion for helping people. She discovered that she could serve her patients best by being a good communicator, showing empathy, and listening actively.
After settling in, Dr Yu was keen to fulfill her dream of becoming a Chinese medicine physician and acupuncturist to better serve her community. To this end, she completed the Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine program at the Acupuncture and Massage College in Miami, Florida, earning her Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Bachelor's in Health Science.
For more than a decade, Dr Yu has dedicated herself to herbal medicine, men's and women's infertility and health issues, pain management, digestive disorders, stroke aftercare, diabetes, facial rejuvenation, and weight loss. Dr. Yu is also a strong proponent of utilizing food as medicine. As a mother of two, she enjoys passing this knowledge onto her children.
